A 2024 survey shows 64% of Canadian homebuyers prefer renovated homes, which sell at a premium. In the Greater Toronto Area, renovated homes have a median price about 4% higher than non-renovated ones. Toronto city shows the largest premium at 7%, with renovated homes priced $89,000 more. Renovated kitchens and bathrooms are highly valued features, second only to backyards. York Region shows no significant price difference.
